Phew....I just noticed my last post was way over a month ago! It has been a crazy month. Our orders finally came in....YEAH!!! We will be moving to Minn. sometime in April! So that has officially started the chaos. Landon was sick for almost 2 weeks with some knid of bug that landed him in the hospital for almost 2 days--he is all better now, thank the Lord, because I don't think I could have handled anymore and I know for a fact he couldn't either! The boys have been busy with school, field trips, soccor playdates...etc. Yesterday Seth and I made 70 V-Day cupcakes for the kids at school(I never want to see another cupcake or my kitchen aid mixer AGAIN!!!). We had a good day filled with lots of interesting 4-yr old conversation! I loved every minute of it!

Now for the V-day goods! My sweet husband has surprised me with tickets to go para-sailing tomorrow morning with him, complete with a lunch/cruise!! I am so excited! I have always wanted to go para-sailing and it just never worked out! So off we go for a little adventure!!! More to come on how well it goes.......ha ha.

We have a busy weekend coming up, bowling, dinner with friends and Kalea's Beach B-day party! Then on Sunday we all fly out to go to Australia for the week!!!! The boys are so excited.......... as our Mom and Dad! More to follow on how our trip goes and lots of pictures to follow!!!!!

Happy New Year!!!! I can't believe 2008 is here~this year has gone by sooooo fast! Well, 08 will be the year we move back to the states! It's so much fun with the boys at this age, not only are they intrigued by EVERYTHING, but they are really starting to understand Christmas! They know that it is Jesus's B-day, but of course are more concerned at the moment with making sure that Santa get his cookies and milk on Christmas Eve. So....we made a date with friends to make and decorate cookies. The kids have fun and the Mom's and Dad's got to sit back and watch!

Izabella Dawn Beasley was born to Amby and George at 9:43pm on Sunday, November 25th by c-section. 5 lbs, 15 oz and 20 inches long, Bella is healthy and happy. Mom and baby are resting comfortably at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. They will be coming home on Wednesday, November 28th.

She is sooooooooooooooooo BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't wait to go home!!!!!

Well we had a really nice Thanksgiving with friends this year that of course ended with a trip

to the ER. Landon fell on his arm, so now he has a little caste on. But that has not slowed the little bugger down!

We had another day at the beach with lots and lots of crab hunting. We did find a coconut crab that we named Hermie, but before I could get the camera, the kids let him go!

Well for this year's Thanksgiving program Seth was a pilgrim and Landon was an Indian! The program was a success! It was very appropriate for Landon's K-2 class--All the kids had stagefright and proceeded to run for their parent's--very cute, but of course the video camera's continued to roll and the older kids came out! We love Tender Shepherd Preschool and I am already starting the dread of trying to find a preschool that can even compare back in the states. Ahh I sit here with my fingers crossed!!!

Holidays just passing by....

Well Halloween is officially over! It was nice going trick or treating with the gang. Last year we were in Hawaii at this time, so we crashed the Air Force Base for some sweets! This year the Mom's followed the kiddo's around with a glass of wine while the Daddy's stayed back and handed out the goods. The boys had a very good holiday--lots of parties, friends, dress-up ....all while Mom and Dad snuck the treats away!! The boys were fascinated with the pumpkins and we had to make sure we lit them every evening. There school had a carnival for the kids and parents so it was fun to watch the boys try and play the little carnival games.

Now to get ready for Thanksgiving. I believe we are going to share this Holiday with 4 families! Which I am completely grateful considering I don't have to cook the Turkey! It has truly been a year of THANKS! My Dad is still recovery and taking it easy, but is doing very well! I guess it's that time of the year for me to look back in awe-----this month we have been living here in Guam for 2 years! The time has flown by---I just remember Landon was 7mos. old when we moved here---now he is 2 1/2 yrs old. Seth will be graduating from preschool and off to kindy next fall--wow it makes me feel old!

Living on an Island has it's pros and cons! Con #1: NO SEASON's!!!!! It is very hard to feel in the mood for certain holidays!!!! But, I had the boys try on there Halloween costumes and then went out and bought some pumpkins! We wont carve the pumpkins until Daddy comes home--of course! So Happy Halloween Spirit to everyone!

Coming here was always top priority on my "personal travel plans"! Luis and I had a great busy vacation! We saw so many places and learned alot of history! Our driver and Tour guide Lisa was fantastic! We went and toured the Jade factory, silk factory(which I was able to get a silk duvet cover), toured and tasted tea in one of the tea houses, shopped in ALOT of markets! This trip was simple UNFORGETTABLE!!

Ahh we are back home from a wonderful trip to Beijing! We did and learned so much in 4 days!! We took over 400 pictures to document it all--ha ha! I don't even know where to start! My favorite part was of course going and CLIMBING the million steps up to the top of the Great Wall!!!! Holy crap, that was a workout! What a view in the mountains--I will do another post on all the Great Wall pics! THe boys did great with Aunty Amber--even though I think she was exhausted by the time we got home, taking care of 4 kiddos! Thank you again Amber!!!

Well since the boys have been at school every morning, Mom has some extra time to herself. In that time I have gotten 4 letter orders done. So with all of Mom's paint out on the table it was time to pull out the letters for the boys to paint! They love painting! Now with Mom's finishing touches they should be done in a few days. Landon's Very First Day of School!

Well Monday was the boy's 1st Day of school at Tender Shepherd! Seth was SO GLAd to see all of his friends. That is all I have heard the last 2 mos. Landon was so excited about going, he has been carring around his Diego lunch pack around since last week! So far so good, Mom has every morning to herself now. I have so many projects that need to be done!!!

ok, so we have been home for a week. The plane trips were good, the boys were great and it feels good to be home. Very bitter sweet though. After spending 2 1/2 mos. home in the states coming back here feels a little empty! We already miss our "Lala and Papa", Aunty Amby, Uncle Goerge, & Tristan and everytime we get in the car, Seth asks.........are we going to the hospital to see Papa? Then I have to explain all over again that we are back in Guam, and everyone else is back in the states....etc.

We did get in at 3am and coming home to all the toys....the boys thought it was Christmas all over again. We did manage to get them to bed at 4am, sleep 3 hours and up again to start another day. The boys have this traveling thing down! I think they travel better than I do. When we got to Japan I couldn't even keep my eyes open!!! Well now that is all behind us until we hopefully come home again for the winter and have more traveling stories to tell! Happy Tuesday!

Looks like I will have my niece after-all. Amby went for a ultrasound 2 weeks ago, I think she will have a very mellow child, as it took over an hour to get the baby to move to see what the sex was!! Ha, just wait Amby and George she is going to be just like me growing up and then you are going to have your hands full!

Well Amby, the boys and I have spent every weekend up in Marshfiled to see my Mom and Dad. Since we came home in May, Dad has gone through the works with his treatment. So many people have called/emailed and I apoligize about not returning most of the calls. Dad had his stem cell transplant in June, with the process looking good and while we sat day in and day out watching his counts and levels to return, he simply got worse. First they thought it was an infection, then phnuemonia and then they just didn't know. Fast forward 3 very heart wrenching and emotional weeks.....his oxygen level dropped to the 70's and they couldn't keep it up. Doctors said the last high dangerous doses of chemo seriously damaged his heart, lungs and kidneys. The doctors said his heart was only working 20%, kidneys aren't working enough to get the fluid out, and his lungs are bleeding. Mom called on Friday to say they were putting him into CCU (Critcal Care Unit--for cardiac patients) and putting him on a breathing machine. We pack it up to head back down to Marshfield for something Amby and I were not prepared for. God bless my Mom for being such a strong women. We walked into the CCU room and just stood there in shock. We knew what we were going to see after Dad's nurse explained everything over again to us........how can you prepare for something like that? Plain and simple, you can't. Dad was hooked up to all his IV's and tubes and the breathing machine. I felt like I was in a movie. We just stood there and cried and cried and cried. Finally when we got ahold of ourselves we sat there and talked to Dad, every once in a awhile, he would squeeze our hands or open his eyes when he heard Mom's voice. I kept thinking ,"My Dad is the strongest man I will ever know!" Over the next few days, the docs. said that he needs time to rest and get strong again and that we are all taking it day by day, hour by hour.
I was able to bring Seth into his room. He asked everyday to be able to see his "Papa". I was worried that Seth might be scared to see Dad like that so I explained to him that Papa was sleeping. Well Seth marched into the room and said "Hi Papa, the sun is up, why are you sleeping?" Then proceeded to tell him how much he loved him and that the medicine was working and the tube was helping him to breath. Now I have explained things to Seth in a very gentle way, so when Seth said what he did, you know that little ears have been picking up bits and pieces of our conversations. We all cried, and Seth gave Papa a huge kiss and said"I love you....See you later alligator". Thank God that children are so innocent and resistant to what goes on around them. The boys have been my sanity check and bring me back to reality of life when I leave Dad's room.
The next day, they slowed his meds. down so he was able to kinda comunicate with us(which was very little), but still in no pain. I talked to Mom yesterday and to the shock of all of us, they took the breathing tube out. See for all of you who know my Dad and how stong-willed he is, he was fighting the breathing machine, so he met the protocol to see if he can start breathing on his own. Low and behold now...he is breathing on his own!!!! Such wonderful news in all this chaos!!! Now I know I can't type everything that has happened over the last 2 mos. My mind has become one pile of mush with things changing every second. I know Mom is exhausted, but she just keeps going. Mom and Dad we love you and are praying every second that God heals Dad and provides up with miracles everyday...which he has!

Well since we are obviously not home with our own things, I have been trying to keep the boys very busy! It has been a challenge! So we have been to playgrounds, parks, museum's, ponds, malls....pretty much anything and everything you can think of! They are doing good, but are ready to head home. Ahh and we are not leaving until the end of July! It will be good when we head back to Mi.--change of scenery for them!

Happy 4th Birthday!! Wow, where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday that we took you home from the hospital! Now you are this "little man"! Today I saw this rare, wonderful moment between all the chaos, you just let Landon crawl up in your lap and you held him for a good 20 mins. and I just sat and watched in amazement and thought what a great big brother you are. Landon looks up to you so much and I can't wait to hear all the conversations that you will have with each other.

All of us went to the zoo and amusement park for your big day! We had to celebrate a week early so that Daddy could be here for cake and presents. You wanted to know why all you friends couldn't be here to help you celebrate. So you decided that when we get back to Guam, we will have another party! If it all works out, then that is what we might do! Tristan, you, and Landon had a fantastic time watching all the animals. I would have to say that the Lion was your favorite animal. We were so close, it felt like if we just reached out we could touch him! We had a blast watching you boys ride on all the rides and just having fun!

Since Friday is your real birthday we are going to the park and packing up cupcakes to celebrate! Happy birthday Seth! We love you so much, Love Mom and Dad

Well it has been about 3 weeks since we have been back to Mi. Like always when you have kids it has been very hectic. Getting them changed to a 14-hour different time schedule was hard enough. Trying to be with my parent's as much as possible and seeing other family and friends. We bought another house and are working on closing on that as soon as possible. We are now in Minneapolis staying with my sister until my Dad gets out of the hospital--with any luck, could be about a week and a half. Dad seems to be doing good and we are all just taking it day by day. Luis left yesterday to go and spend a couple days with his Mom before heading back to Guam. So like always, it's good to be home.

A little early Mother's Day gift to myself! My girlfriend ALicia had gotten me a mother's bracelet shortly after Seth was born. My girlfriend Karen makes jewelry along with name bracelets, so I had her put gems and add Landon's name! Thank you again Alicia and Karen, now it's just perfect!

Inside Activities...

Well we are on the mend from pink eye, ear infections, sinus infections, sleepless nights and lots of medicine! On that note we have alot of inside activities going on! Baking, coloring, reading, games, puzzles....any other ideas out there????? Ahh but tomorrow both the boys will be going to school and Mom will be cleaing up after a few days of inside play. I hope everyone else is having a good week---ours is starting to get better.

Well our weekly Friday beach BBQ turned into craziness as Landon feel off a picnic table and hit his head on a screw that held the table together. So off to the ER, where the poor little guy had to get 2 staples on the back of his head. He was a real trooper, but screamed everytime one of the doctors or nurses came near him! What a night! I guess that started our weekend from hell because all day today Seth has been getting sick all over the place and Landon has been trying to pull his staples out!! Ahh all I can say is what a weekend......hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Well my sister finally broke the news this past weekend to family and friends! We are all very excited for her and George! Amby's next ultrasound I think is in 2 weeks. Now starts the planning to come home in Dec. since she is due Dec. 3rd. Ahh a Christmas baby. Can't wait to put the baby in a stocking and get a picture! I always wanted to do that with the boys, but by Christmas they were to big!!!

This are just busy, busy here this week like always. Oh yeah and yesterday I had my morning bowling club and bowled my highest score ever a 241!! 284 with my handicap in there. I was very pleased. Tonight is night bowling league, Luis is convinced that will all this bowling I do I should be a pro by now! Ha, I don't think so! He is just mad because I beat him everytime.

Anyways, my Dad's benefit is coming up this week as I am sure my sister, Amby(PREGNANT SISTER--I can't keep it in any longer!!) is running around like crazy trying to tie up the last minute things. I am having a garage sale the first week of May with all the proceeds going to the benefit. It's going to be a great turn-out! Already I have like 13 families donating all their things for me to sell. It's amazing how your friends pull together when you need help! Thank you! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

p.s. I feel much better now that I posted about Amby's pregnancy! I haven't told ANYONE for like 3 weeks, other than Erin, Alicia, Amber, & Shelley! After her first ultrasound I will be posting that picture as well! George and her are going to make the BEST PARENT'S in the WORLD!! CONGRATS!!!! Love you!

We finally got some cooler weather, I mean cloudy weather. I forgot cooler weather does not exist here on Guam! There is HOT and REALLY HOT! Anyways it was breezy out and a perfect day to get the paint out. Dad and the boys had more fun putting on "war paint" on each other than actually getting it on the paper--oh well, whatever keeps them busy, right? All in all a pretty good day.

Ok, not a baby anymore. Happy 2nd Birthday Landon! Seth for some reason still calls him "Baby Landon" and it still sticks. What a great day to be outside. It was cloudy and very breezy(considering we are on Typhoon warning), so it was actually nice to be outside and not feel like you are going to melt from the heat. The party was great! Seth won the K-3 fundraiser for raising the most money. He won a brand new bike and his first trophy! He has been carring it around since Friday. Each class built their own hut by the beach and we all had a cookout. Thank you again everyone for donating money!

Well March is the month that Seth's school is celebrating Charmoro week(celebrating Guam's history). Yesterday Amber and I took the kids back to the school and let them ride the carabou...or in english a big old water buffalo! They loved it! I didn't think they would, but I had trouble getting Landon off! Tomorrow(Friday) is the big Chamorro fiesta! they have set up straw huts and canopies right on the beach for the festivities! All of the kids at the school are very excited! After all tomorrow we will find out how much the school raised for the fundraiser!

Seth has raised a grand total of $620!!!! WOW, Thank you again everyone!

What a great turn-out! I will post a ton of pics from the party this weekend. Things have been crazy here, Landon's party is this Sunday and I am still in the works to either get Elmo or Big Bird to show up for a surprise vistit! It should be fun! I had such a GREAT time in Hong Kong! That place was made for shopping. I can't even begin to explain what we saw or bought, it's a little overwhelming! What a great group of gals. I don't think it could have gone any better. I have so many great memories! Thank you gals, I had a BLAST! We went non-stop from 7am till midnight! I am ready to go back! We went to the jade market, ladies market..any kind of market you can think of, we were there. It's just like New York, people never sleep!!

A letter from my sister Amby:

Dear family and friends,

As some of you know, my father Roy has Subcutaneous Panniculitis T-Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer. He will be undergoing a Stem-Cell Transplant in April. They will take stem cells out of his bone marrow, give him high doses of chemo and then return his own healthy stem cells back. Here is some info from the Mayo Clinic:

"If your bone marrow stops working, your body won't produce enough healthy stem cells. And that means you may not have enough healthy white blood cells, red blood cells or platelets, putting you at risk of life-threatening infections, anemia and bleeding."

A stem cell transplant is the infusion of healthy stem cells into your body. If all goes well, these healthy stem cells take hold in your body and begin normal production of blood cells.
Although the procedure is generally called a stem cell transplant, it's also known as a bone marrow transplant or an umbilical cord blood transplant, depending on the source of the stem cells."

After his transplant, which will require 3 to 4 weeks in the hospital, he will be moved into a "home care" setting where he and my mom will stay for roughly 6 to 8 weeks. He will have no immunity left and will have to gain his strength back and wear a mask. He can not have flowers, plants or animals around. He will love to see healthy visitors when the time comes to keep his spirits up.

As you can imagine, the expense emotionally, spiritually and financially will be great.
We are going to have a spaghetti dinner benefit for my father on APRIL 21, 2007 at our church in Ironwood, Mi (Trinity Lutheran Church) from 4-7pm.
Time, food (pasta or sauce) or financial donations are greatly appreciated.
As most of you know my father is well know in Gogebic County and we hope to have a great turn out. We will need a lot of volunteers to help cook, serve and cleanup.

Well things have been going in high-drive this week. Mom and Dad called this afternoon to tell me that Dad has handled the 3 straight day chemo treatment very well and that another 3-day hospital treatment is scheduled in 2 weeks. All of this is leading to the stem-cell transplant. Very good news on the home-front!! Dad also informed me that my home town church and their preschool in Ironwood has decided to sponsor Seth's preschool Tender Sheperd here in Guam for a year! What wonderful news! As for an update for Seth's Fundraiser, so far we have raised about $400!!!!!!!! There is still 2 weeks left for us to hand in the money, so I will send out a final total at the end!!

ahhh and things are official on the Hong Kong trip, got my ticket this morning, so I am all set and very EXCITED to go!!

Ok here is the latest and greatest. I am going to Hong Kong with the gals next week! Finally I will make it to CHINA!! Just talked to my girlfriend Karen who is going with a few other ladies to go to the jade market for her jewelry business. We had talked about going together in Jan. but all of our hubbies couldn't get their schedules straight to be home at the same time and then I went home to MI. The only thing I am bummed is that Amber can't come on this trip because her in-laws just came to visit for 2 weeks--don't worry girl we will go again! I will have to take a trip with Luis back to China so we can go to my ultimate dream vacation spot! Now I am starting to get excited. I believe there will be 5 of us ladies going--more to follow!

Successful Auction!

Well Amber and I had one heck of a day at the auction! We were there for almost 5 hours and watched the most amazing pices of furniture whip right by! We had a great time and cannot wait until next year when it comes through. I saw this chair that matches our leather sofa to a T! We have been looking for one since we bought our couch over 4 years ago and either didn't find "the one" or were not paying the price. I gritted my teeth and didn't bid on one single item until the chair came up, just in case it got a little pricey! WOW WOW did I get a steal! I think I am still in shock--Full Italian leather chair for the price of the cheap pleather ones that you can get!!! Can you tell I am EXCITED! There were so many beautiful pieces that were there. The next taller piece was just meant to be. It was towards the end of the auction and I didn't have the patience to wait another 3-4 hours so we left. Amber's neighbor ended up getting it for 55 bucks! Amber told me and I told here if she didn't want it to send it my way--well she didn't have room for it in her house so I bought it from her! Again, it was just meant to be! It matches the other piece I just bought a few weeks ago.......now where to put it. Good thing Luis is on a trip right now.

Now I know what my parent's were talking about when they used the word generation gap! Or here was my favorite "What the hell is going on with your generation?" Yeah right, like I had the anwser!--Still makes me smile, because I can picture my Dad asking/telling me that! (Say a quick prayer for my Dad, while he is undergoing major doses of chemo over these past 3 days and to get over some major hurdles over the next few months.)

Since I went home last month, we went through all of my Grandma Ruth's photo's that she had saved. Then I made my parent's go through all of theirs. So I shipped them all to Guam so I could put them all nicely in a scrapbook(that Amby should be doing!) and so I could scan them and save them on a disc for everyone. When we move back to the states and I get some wall space back, I am going to hang all of them together and find some kind of fancy way to inscribe the pictures. Here are a few of Grandma Ruth's(mind you I have like over 200 pics to choose from and can only post 5 at a time!).

A different generation....

Well things have been crazier than ever here. My Bowling league has started back up along with Luis and I playing softball! I am still going to school and lately I seem to be swamped with essay questions. Seth has been busy with school and all of his little projects. He is taking a computer class at school(can you believe that?) so when he comes home he wants to "show me all the stuff" he has learned. Whatever happened to getting out the actually Memory cards out and begging Mom and Dad to get on the floor and play with you? Oh no, he wants to play the Thomas the train memory card game on the computer! I have to laugh, but it's scares me because it just shows that he is growing up WAY TOO FAST!! Dad has issued a 20 min. time limit for him to be on the computer. I thought I had lots of time for that, I guess not!

Speaking of growing up way too fast, Landon is turning 2 in one month! Just thinking about that makes me want to cry! He is still my baby and always will be. He is completely into Sesame street and Diego. You should see him dance to the music--it reminds me of Luis's impression of Uncle Terry dancing(for all of you out there that have see Terry dance.......we love you Terry!). It cracks all of us up! I wish I could put a streaming video up of that, I think everyone would get a smile out of that. Have a great weekend everyone! My girlfriend Amber and I are off to a Antique furniture auction tomorrow so hopefully I will get some good things!

It looks like Sydney has set the tone for a lazy day, we are all still in our Pajamas and it's past 1pm. Everyone is taking a nap right now and I am trying to catch up on my homework.
Bright and early at 6am this morning, you think with it being dark out still the kids would stay asleep, not today. Seth didn't fall for the "stay in bed until the sun wakes up"!

Sydney found yet another place to take a nap and Seth insisted that she needs another blanket to cover up with. She is sleeping on Seth's Comforter(yes Eren, we still love and use the surfboards!) So 2 hours later she is still sleeping on the laundry, which I have yet to wash............

Well we have adopted a4-month old puppy this morning. Well I can't even say adopted, more on the line of resuced a puppy this morning. She has been around our church for about a week now and no one seemed to know where she came from. I told Luis on Sunday that if I saw her again when I dropped Seth off at school she was coming home with me. He smiled and said, "sure honey, whatever you think is best". Well I don't think he thought I would see the dog again. Well surprise honey it's a girl! I need a little girl power these days! I am all boyed-out! Ha ha! Well we all love her so much! She is the most mellow puppy I think I have ever seen. I know her puppy craziness will emerge when she comes out of her "coma-I-finally-have-a-home-sleep". More pics to follow of our new princess!

Blanket 1 Finished!

I am so proud of this blanket that I crochet for Kalea! It is the first time I actually went around and put a nice border. It looks so lacey and girly! My Mom would be proud of my corners! I actually finished it in time for Kalea's 1st Birthday Party on Sunday. Now I have to start on my own blanket that will be red and ivory. That will take awhile because I have no finish date for that--haha. Oh yeah I rescued a puppy today, I have named her Sydney. I brought her to the vets this morning and got her all checked up! Now, just how to tell Luis..............So now she is laying by my feet as I type this! Pics to follow.......

One great thing about being here is with so many people coming and going, everyone always has a garage sale! I have found so many great deals on so many things. I can't go thrifting with my girlfriend Eren until I get back to the states so I will just have to settle with the many yard sales that go on here! My latest find is a Little Tykes jumper for the boys. Wow are these things great and pretty darn pricey! They played on it for almost 2 hours yesterday, while Mom and Dad got to actually sit down and watch.

I did manage to find an Antiques warehouse here on-island. It has some beautiful things in it! This buffet piece is from Tibet. I saw it along with a taller matching piece and had to talk Luis into why we needed it--ha ha ok why I wanted it! So after some negotiations I had to get rid of my ugly, yet useful craft table that was over taking the living room!!! So now I guess I will fill it up with all my craft items! Oh yeah I am still working on going to get the taller piece! I guess that will have to wait until Luis leaves for work!

Coach Mom giving a few tips!

Well now that I was home I have the crochet bug. It seems to happen everytime I go home. My Mom taught me how to crochet when I was 15 and from there I have made some scarfs, and about 6 blankets. I started a blanket while I was home for Project Linus (blankets for kids that are sick) and my Mom finished it for me so I could start another one for my girlfriend Amber's daughter Kalea (kind of a "Thank- you" for helping Luis with the boys while I was gone). The blanket I made for Project Linus was this beautiful varigated yarn(I am still trying to find more). While Eren and Alicia were visiting in Mi. my Mom showerd Alicia and gave Eren tips on how to crochet! We all had a great time and hopefully started a new hobby for everyone!

Amby even started and now she is making a blanket for herself! So now I am still working on Kalea's blanket. It's taking me a little longer because I only use to crochet in the winter months when it was too cold to go out and do anything. It's so hot here! I need to get that out of my head and just sit and finish the blanket. It's going to look so cute!

Well I can now say I am back to Guam time. It took a little bit to get adjusted! My trip back home was FANTASTIC! Everyone worked so hard to get things organized. It was great to see everyone. It had to be around zero the whole time I was there. From here to Mi. there is a 100 degree weather difference---oh and I felt it! I told Amby when we were shopping that I had to be the ony one in Minn. that was wearing "winter gear". People are crazy walking around in a little leather jacket-are they kidding? haha

Wow what a great trip! It is so good to be home! I missed the boys like crazy! It was great to see everyone. We all worked very hard to organize my parents house--I think they slept the whole day after I left! Luis did a fantastic job being Mr. Mom and the house was in one piece--he even cleaned! My flight got cancelled in Japan, so under much protest I had to spend the night in Japan and catch a flight the next morning. It all worked out of course and Luis and I were able to pick the boys up from school! I don't think I have ever seen Seth run as fast as he did when he saw me! Landon was being shy and smiley and couldn't take his eyes off of me! Too cute! I did have a meeting to go to this morning and dropped the boys off at school. I thought it was going to be chaos when I left---but nope, not even one single tear from either of them! Ahhh it felt good and I didn't feel guilty! So now I am just busy putting my stuff away and picking up where I left off! Pics to follow.........

I just found out that 3 of my very best friends will be coming up to see me when I get to Michigan!! I think I am still in shock! Eren from Chicago, Alicia from the beach & hopefully Shelley-belly--Wow, my Mom cannot keep a secret for anything!!!! I thank you guys in advance for coming up! I know it is hard to get things rolling, especially when you have kids! We are truly going to have a real Girl's weekend! Probably the first and last for awhile--haha, until we all get back to the beach! Thank you Amby for re-arranging your schedule on very short notice to come and pick me up and so we can spend some-serious sister time together! Let's go and buy some baby girl clothes!!!! (hint: that means I want you to have a GIRL sooner than later!)
I told my Mom to try and get a list going so it will keep us busy!!! Now with you guys coming up, I could just sit and drink coffee ALL day and chat. Now I am starting to get excited-even though it is going to be a SUPER LONG trip--no worries though, I have 3 books with me that I have been dying to read and know I will be able breeze through them all!!

Mama is going on vacation!

Well things have quickly evolved around her the past few days. It has just worked out a little too smoothly...I am going home by MYSELF for 2 weeks!!!!!! Ahhh 2 weeks on "my own schedule". It just happened that Luis's trip got canceled this month and he will be a work/stay-at-home Dad! Of course with some MAJOR help from my friend Amber doing everything else in between, Dad will be fine! I found a great price on a airline ticket within a week's notice and bought it! So now there is no-way out! Luis's actually wanted me to go 3 weeks but for me that is too much time away from the boys! SO the last few days I have been getting everything set-up and trying to prepare the boys for Mommy's soon departure!

I am really excited to go and help my parents get some things done, visit my Nana & Grandpa and see some friends! Amby is very excited considering she is calling me every morning with a count-down to her picking me up at the airport! Well time to go and pick-up Seth from school! More to follow..........

New Year Resolutions........

I guess it is that time of year to start thinking of what you want to accomplish in 2007. Maybe the things that you feel should be better in your life. Or maybe make that list of things that you have started and finnish them--or atleast make the list--haha. Personally my first one is to spend more quality time with all the boys! Next: to save way more money this year! Then of course is the usual...lose the baby weight--Is it still considered baby weight after almost 21 mos?--HA, in my world it is!!! Next is the trip to China....I will make it there this year! (hint for Aunty Amby: Get your butt in gear and get out here for 2 weeks!!!) Maybe I'll start a Aunty Amby flying fund!! I can do that, right? After all it is the internet and I did see some crazy lady put up a donation fund to help pay her pathetic ridiculous credit card debt! You know what I think she actually made tons of money off of that--gee smarter than the rest of us! Anywho back to the subject.......resolutions. Next is to get more involved with our church. We have been SO fortunate to have the Lutheran Church of Guam! I believe there is only 2 Lutheran MS overseas. Here in Guam and one in Germany! The Pastor that is here is actually from MI. and at that, the U.P. Ahhh and last but not least start going to aerobics class. I guess actually going to aerobics class would help lose the weight and knock out 2 resolutions at once! So here is my mental list--hey atleast I wrote it down.....I feel better now~~Happy New Year!

ok, 3 days to go until Christmas!!!! I spent ALL day wrapping presents!!! Ahhh well worth it though! I cannot wait until Christmas morning to see the look on the boys faces when they see that Santa does come to Guam--haha. Seth actually understands what Christmas means from singing "Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus" all the way through to when Santa comes! It's amazing to see how much the boys have developed and the things the have learned! Yesterday I came into the living room and Seth and Landon were sitting together on the couch. Landon had a huge shape book that he was looking at(all day long Landon brings us books to read) . Landon would point to the shape and Seth would tell him what it was! It was such a peaceful moment and they were completely enjoying each other. I did manage to get it on video for about 4 mins. and they they started fighting over the book--Luis and I just had to laugh!

So from our our crazy home to your home, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy Healthy New Year! We truly miss all of our family & friends!

Seth and I decided it would be nice to make something for his teacher's at school and of course the best baby-sitter's on the planet(I swear I have already paid for Kaley's 1st year at college!--haha) So Seth said candy was a good gift,especially M&M's(his foavorite). So we went to the thrift store and bought little glass bottles and started painting! Seth painted all the wooden tops and Mom painted Christmas trees with their names and #1 Teacher on them. Well of course we had to give Pastor Jeff one from the boys--that read #1 Pastor! Very Thoughtful of Seth! So Thank-you to all the Teacher's out there!

Seth had his Christmas Program at school on Wed. The program was a success and he was happier than ever to be a "Candycane"! He sang his little heart out as loud as he could--very sweet. Afterwards the kids got another visit from Santa--which ended up being a point and shoot picture because Landon was not happy at all! Kudo's to the preschool for putting on another outstanding performance for all of our little stars!

Only 10 days left till Christmas!!! We went to Luis's work Christmas party last night and had a blast!!! Today Mom and Dad finally got around to doing one of our traditions....Gingerbread house! Seth actually remembers doing the house last year. After he said that I went back and looked at the pics. from last year--the boys look so much older it's amazing how they have grown in a year! It made me want to cry! I want my kids to stay little forever--well you know on the good days--haha. So here is our gingerbread house for 2006!

Hello Santa!

This weekend was definitely a memorable one for the boys! We saw 2 versions of Santa. The Tropical version and the "normal version" Seth did not for one minute believe that the funny looking guy in the straw hat was actually Santa. Both of the boys were afraid....Hence the family photo. I tried putting Landon on his lap and he held on for dear life.
Today we had our Kid's Christmas party at........The bowling alley, anyone familiar with my posts should have guessed that--ha ha. Again the boys had a blast! Seth is getting pretty darn good! Santa showed up for the kids with presents. It was truly the highlight of the day! Seth actually sat on his lap after a little encouragement from Dad and told him he wanted a "Big boy bike" for Christmas. Wow big surprise to us! (gee..... guess where Dad is right now---the bike shop!) Santa asked if he was a good boy and Seth replied..."Santa I am always good!" Landon just sat and watched in awe as Seth chatted with the big guy in the red suit! When Seth opened his present and saw that Santa had gotten him a new Thomas the Train book and Landon new trucks----it was PRICELESS!!! Seth ran back to Santa so fast and gave him a big hug and said "Thank you so much for my Thomas book! How did you know?" So needless to say Seth LOVES Santa now and thinks he is the greatest!!!! AHHHHH how cute are kids at this age!!!! These are the days I hope to remember forever!!! God I love these boys!

Some early gifts for Mom

Well we all know that saying "you have to treat yourself", well I did that!! Actual I think I am a little to good at that. Living here in Guam has had it's MAJOR advantages. I have found so many great trinkets, furniture...etc. I have been looking FOREVER for a trunk or a hope chest to store all of my Mother's things that my family has saved for my sister and I. WEll I finally found it. Or shall I say 3 of them. 3 wedding chests from Korea. They are beautiful! Perfect for all of things I have stored away and saved for my children. I can't wait to go through all of the stuff that I have saved! I also started collecting the paint brush's after I found one made of bone and showed it to Luis's. So everytime he goes on a trip he is on a mission to find one that is unique to add to my collection!

It feels like Christmas......

Well we have officially been in Guam for one year! It has gone by so fast. This year it does feel like Christmas. Last year we were here 3 weeks before Christmas and all we felt like doing was the tree. Not this year, we got the tree up after Thanksgiving, hung all the lights outside and I got all my Christmas cards out in the mail! I must admit we did a great job, so far Landon is leaving the ornaments alone...so far that is! This weekend we are taking the boys to see Santa. Seth is at the age right now where is really now understanding Christmas. So he is actually excited to see Santa. His school program is on the 20th. He has asked everyone to attend his performance. I believe he is a candycane--can't wait to see that. We are making/decorating our gingerbread house tomorrow. I believe that is know a new Nebel family holiday tradition. I will definetly post pics of that. Merry Christmas Everyone!

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

Seth had his Thanksgiving Program at school yesterday. The whole class dressed up as Turkey's. Very Cute. They did the chicken dance....appropriately re-named the turkey dance. Seth was shaking his booty--We were laughing so hard!!!

Landon got his curls cut off!!!!!!! Finally took him in to get his hair cut. Boy oh boy he did not like it one bit! He was so happy to get it over with!!! He looks like a little man now!

Polynesian Cultural Center

We made it back........ahhh I think I need a vacation from our vacation. We had a great time! It was so nice to see my Mom and Dad and Luis's Mom, Grace. Of course it was like Christmas for the kids with all the gifts Grandparent's bring. Thank you guys for everything. My Mom made Thomas the Train quillows for both boys(post pics later). Grace brought a whole bunch of toys which was perfect because we didn't bring much for the boys--too much to pack!
The house we rented in Haleiwa was beautiful! Very quiet compared to our first couple of nights down in Waikiki. There were 2 horses in a field right next to us so it was nice to let Seth feed them every morning. The boys were very sad to see everyone leave..... he kept asking where his LaLa, Papa and Grandma Gracie went? I have so many things to tell and pics to post it's going to take a while to go through everything.
I will say that Luis is a little bugger though, he planned a re-newal of our vows on the beach. It was simple beautiful. It was wonderful to have our parent's there this time. Everyone seem to know about it but me! Since there was a photographer there I still need to order the pics. Ahhh lots to post...........

Trick or Treat!!!!

The boys wore their costumes today for the first time! Seth of course was Thomas the train and Landon was Spiderman(Dad's choice). There was a bowling B-day costume party! What a GREAT idea. Even most of the parents got into it! I tell you what.....the boys are going to either love bowling by the time we leave here or they are never going to want to see a bowling ball again! Too cute though, they had fun. It's very hard to get into the "winter" holidays here for me. Those of us who know it's not Halloween unless you are wearing 15 layers of clothes underneath your costume because it's so damn cold out. I really truly miss the change of seasons. Again it's never going to be the same here in the tropics for halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas--I guess that is why Aunty Amby sent the boys SNOW to make, yes ladies and gentlemen real snow. It even says that I can freeze it and save it for later play. Yeah I'll let everyone know how that goes. Landon will take one look at it and THROW it EVERYWHERE and that will be the end of it! Don't worry Aunty Amby we WILL do it soon!!

It's Pumpkin Time!!!

I can not believe how fast time is flying by!!! We have almost been here a year, that is just amazing. We bought pumpkins and carved them early since we will be gone. The little guys had a blast, Landon was into getting all those guts out I was amazed. He cried when there was no more to pull out--wierd huh? When Seth was that age we couldn't even get him to barely touch a pumpkin. Things here have been crazier than normal, wait what is normal? The boys are doing great! School is going good, demanding but good, oh and OF COURSE ONLY 2 DAYS UNTIL WE FLY OUT FOR HAWAII!!! We are all very excited to see Grandma Grace, LaLa & Papa (aka....Grandma Sue and Grandpa Roy). That has been the topic of a year and waiting!!!!! Happy Holloween everyone!!! Mark it on the calender, we have a SMILE from Landon--haha

Field Trip!!!

Seth's preschool class had their annual field trip to the HUGE aquarium downtown. I have never seen one this big before in my life! We actually got to see the divers feed the sharks--way too cool! Seth and his friend Kimo were in awe........ The tunnel underneath was soooo long and it curved all around. Landon just laid in his stroller and looked up the whole time....what a perfect outing!

oh and Dad broke down and bought Landon a spiderman Halloween costume for when we are in Hawaii! Too cute!

Quilts for the Boys!

WOW-Do the boys love getting packages!!! We recieved a package from the Houin's this time. Alicia's wonderful Mother-in-law Fran made the boys these wonderful Quilts! THANK YOU FRAN!!! Seth of course recived a Thomas the Train Quilt and Landon recieved a Plane quilt! They are so nice!!!!! Seth had to immediately put it on his bed and Landon loves rolling around on his on the floor. I thought at first Seth was going to hyperventilate at the sight of this huge quilt! For once I think he was SPEECHLESS! And to the Houin's ,thank you so much for sending this stuff! It makes us feel a little closer to home when we get things like this! Thank You!

Landon's Kitchen

Well Luis knows that when he is gone something will be different with the house when he comes back. Whether it be garage sale finds, furniture, new paint..etc, you get the idea. It doesn't matter what time of night he comes home he will take a trip around the house to see what I did or bought when he was gone. It is now a little joke between us. So this time when he got home he took his usually walk and found the boys(well Landon's) kitchen that I bought (on-sale mind you) for him. He just laughed......and said are you sure this is it???? Little does he know that the Teak bar I purchased at our Teak party will be here from Bali in Dec. I guess that will just have to be my Christmas, birthday & anniversary gift all in one! Ahhhhh he will love it--I hope!

Oh how we love to get packages!!! Especially when there are good things in them! The SanPedro's sent a package that I was waiting for because they had my curtains in them(I'm still working on Luis to hang the damn things!) Thank you guys for all the goodies!!! Seth recieved a Thomas puzzle that we have to put together EVERY NIGHT before bedtime--no exceptions and Landon got a Thomas the Train that makes noise--He loves it and Seth actually realizes that the train is Landons(I was a little worried about that)! We have been busy little bees! Dad just got home from work, Seth going to school a little longer these days and Landon's first Drop-in care was this Monday. He did great, didn't even cry once when I left. He played with the other kids like he had been going there all his life. AAHHHH so I have 2 mornings a week with NO-ONE in the house. A little Mommy time. Time that is now filled up with my demanding Economics class that is sucking the life out of me--only 9 weeks to go. Anywho things are better than ever! T-minus 21 days until we head out for the big Hawaii Trip!!! I can't wait!

Bath Time Fun!

Seth and Landon in their favorite past time! Taking a bath. Thank the lord that these little buggers get along SO WELL. Landon is so busy and Seth just follows him around and tries to tell him what he can and cannot do! Pretty darn cute to watch. Well today has just been an exhausting day! While Seth was at school Landon and I got most of my errands done! Why is it when Daddy is gone everything seems to just start piling up!!!! I was so tired today I laid on the floor and fell asleep with both boys crawling all over me, now that is tired. I don't think I have ever done that before!!! Seth kept telling me to go and lay down. Oh how I wish I could have just done that. Well now of course since they are in bed I have a 10th wind going!!! I just finished some school assignments and I am going to just lay on the couch and watch my FAVORITE SHOW--Grey's Anatomy! I think the new one starts up next week. I'll have to look in to that!
